In April of 1965, with $350.00 cash and all necessary paperwork completed they opened the doors to AAA Trailer Hitch Company on Rocky Creek Road in what was once a very small neighborhood store. “AAA” was decided as the name of the company so it would be listed first in the phone book. Business flourished and soon they had to employ the help of co-workers and church friends, everyone part time but together keeping the shop open 5 and a half days a week. Soon they built a larger bldg down the street and added a full-time employee.
Today, some of us are still at AAA. My brother has customers to say, “Mr. Ed, remember me, you coached me little league. Some say I came here with my dad to get a trailer hitch when I was a kid. There are all kinds of advertising, yellow pages, radio, television and now the Internet, but word of mouth by older customers is the one that brings a smile to our face.
